CLIMATOLOGY: RESPIRED WOODEN SKIN
Celebrating Nature's Survival Tactics
Climatology: Celebrating nature’s survival tactics is a new experimental smart textile series. Using the smartness of nature to create natural responsive movement.
Wooden Skin’s behaviour is inspired by the natural living behaviour of the resurrection plant Selaginelia Lepidoplylla. A plant that can survive extreme dehydration for months or even years. Layers of veneer are combined with fabric, reactive dyes and reflective surfaces to create objects that adapt to fluctuations in light, temperature and humidity.
Material:
Smart Veneer
Light Reflective Veneer
Thermochromatic Veneer
